Today, First Deputy Chairman of the Majlisi Namoyandagon of the Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan, Shermuhammad Shohiyon, met with a delegation from the People's Republic of China led by Mr. W. Xiaojun, a member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China in Qinghai Province.
"Relations between Tajikistan and China have historical roots and occupy an important place in Tajikistan's foreign policy. We wish to further develop and strengthen cooperation with this friendly and fraternal country," said Shermuhammad Shohiyon.
The Republic of Tajikistan and the People's Republic of China are strategic partners. The role of the Founder of Peace and National Unity, Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Honorable Emomali Rahmon, and President Xi Jinping of the People's Republic of China is highly noticeable in strengthening bilateral and multilateral relations between these neighboring countries.
It should be noted that our countries are united by cooperation within the framework of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, the China-Central Asia format, and other interstate relations.
Today, more than 200 treaties and agreements provide the legal basis for regulating bilateral cooperation between the Republic of Tajikistan and the People's Republic of China.
It was noted that the constantly developing and expanding inter-parliamentary relations between our countries will contribute to strengthening relations in other areas, including education and healthcare, agriculture, the economy, and the social sphere, as well as road construction and transport.
