Today, the Chairman of the Majlisi Namoyandagon of the Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan, Fayzali Idizoda, held a meeting with the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, the Honorable Sadyr Japarov, who is on a state visit to the Republic of Tajikistan.
During the meeting, it was noted that the Majlisi Namoyandagon of the Republic of Tajikistan cooperates with more than 70 parliaments of countries around the world. In this context, special attention is given to the development of inter-parliamentary relations with our closest neighbor — the Kyrgyz Republic, emphasized Mr. Idizoda.
He expressed satisfaction that inter-parliamentary relations between our countries, based on the principles of friendship and good neighborliness, have been expanding in recent years, taking into account mutual interests. “We honor the noble traditions of our ancestors, who promoted mutual understanding, friendship, and brotherhood — standing by each other in both good and difficult times, and treating one another with respect,” he stated.
It is precisely this centuries-old friendship and brotherhood, along with the efforts of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan — the respected Leader of the Nation, Emomali Rahmon — and you, Honorable Sadyr Japarov, that led to the signing of the Treaty on the State Border between Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan. We stand for the development and strengthening of inter-parliamentary relations with the Parliament of the Kyrgyz Republic (Jogorku Kenesh).
The importance of further developing and expanding inter-parliamentary relations through international cooperation mechanisms — particularly within the frameworks of the United Nations (UN), Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), the Inter-Parliamentary Assembly of the CIS, and other platforms — was also emphasized.
