Today, the Chairman of the Majlisi Namoyandagon of the Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan, Fayzali Idizoda, held a meeting with the Ambassador of the Republic of Belarus, Viktor Denisenko.
During the meeting, it was noted that Tajikistan highly values its cooperation with Belarus, which has developed into a strategic partnership over the past two decades.
It was emphasized that the foundation of Tajik-Belarusian relations consists of more than 120 bilateral international agreements, among which the Strategic Partnership Agreement, signed between the two countries on June 27, 2019, holds special significance and importance.
It was further noted that the basis of these relations has been established through the will and constructive initiatives of the top leadership of the two nations — the President of the Republic of Tajikistan and Leader of the Nation, H.E. Emomali Rahmon, and the President of the Republic of Belarus, H.E. Alexander Lukashenko.
Cooperation between Tajikistan and Belarus is actively expanding across various sectors, including politics, economy, trade, security, culture, and humanitarian affairs. Gratitude was expressed to the Belarusian side for annually allocating scholarship quotas for Tajik youth in the country’s universities and institutes — currently, more than 500 Tajik students are pursuing their studies in Belarus.
Interregional cooperation is also growing, with partnerships developing between Tajikistan and the regions and cities of Minsk, Vitebsk, Gomel, and Mogilev. In the city of Hisor, the Belarusian enterprise “Agrotechservice” is successfully operating.
Tajikistan consistently supports Belarus’s constructive initiatives at the international level. It was emphasized that Tajikistan places great importance on preserving the memory and historical truth of the Great Patriotic War, the 80th anniversary of which was recently commemorated. A delegation from the Majlisi Namoyandagon participated in this important event held in Volgograd under the theme “Great Heritage – Shared Future.”
Particular attention was given to the importance of strengthening inter-parliamentary cooperation and enhancing the activities of friendship groups between the parliaments of both countries.
