On August 18, 2026, an International Scientific and Practical Conference entitled "35th Anniversary of Independence of the Republic of Tajikistan: Development and Strengthening of Hydrometeorological Monitoring and Glacier Protection in the Context of Climate Change" will be held. This conference will be dedicated to the 35th anniversary of the independence of the Republic of Tajikistan and the 100th anniversary of the Hydrometeorological Agency.
Representatives of government agencies, scientists, representatives of international organizations, development partners, and climate experts will participate in the conference. Issues related to:
Glacier protection;
Adaptation to climate change;
Modern hydrometeorological monitoring and forecasting systems;
Sustainable water resources management;
International scientific cooperation will be discussed, and views will be exchanged on issues of international dialogue, the future development of climate resilience, hydrometeorology, and cryospheric sciences.
