On 30 July 2026, an online meeting was held via videoconference between Bahodur Sheralizoda, Chairman of the Committee for Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, Daler Juma, Minister of Energy and Water Resources of the Republic of Tajikistan, and the senior management of the Chinese company Wangneng Environment.
During the meeting, the participants discussed issues related to further cooperation in implementing a project to construct a municipal solid waste processing facility in Dushanbe, with electricity generation through waste-to-energy technology based on the thermal treatment (incineration) of waste.
The parties exchanged views on continuing their cooperation and implementing the project, which is aimed at providing effective solutions for the processing and efficient utilization of municipal solid waste, improving the environmental situation, and generating electricity.
