Representatives of the Committee for Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan participated in the Global Training and Closing Workshop in Bangkok, Thailand, held as part of the project "Accelerating Change on Gender Equality and Biodiversity Conservation through National Biodiversity Strategies and Action Plans."
The workshop brought together country representatives, international experts, and development partners to discuss issues related to sharing experiences, reviewing results, and strengthening the integration of gender equality into national biodiversity strategies and action plans (NBS).
During the workshop, participants discussed gender governance in biodiversity, financing mechanisms, preparations for the next session of COP 17, Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity, as well as ways to implement the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework. They also presented achievements, lessons learned, and opportunities for further collaboration.
The delegation from the Republic of Tajikistan presented the country's achievements, including the development of the "Roadmap for the Implementation of the Global Plan of Action on Gender Equality," the creation of the "National Digital Monitoring Platform," informational and educational events and the "First National Conference on Gender Equality and Biodiversity."
One of the most interesting parts of the program was a trip to the forest region of the Kingdom of Thailand, where participants learned about practical experiences in sustainable forest management, ecosystem restoration, and the involvement of local communities in biodiversity conservation. This visit provided a valuable opportunity to exchange experiences with representatives from different countries and explore successful practices in biodiversity conservation.
The goal of this seminar was to strengthen international cooperation, share knowledge, and present Tajikistan's experience in integrating gender equality and biodiversity conservation
