Following social media posts about concrete coverings for trees in the 18th microdistrict of Khujand, the matter was investigated and reviewed by staff from the Main Department of Environmental Protection of the Sughd Region and its branch in Khujand.
During the inspection, it was determined that seven trees, including two mulberry trees and five pines over 10 years old, were covered with concrete. However, it was determined that these trees were not located within the land plot allocated for development.
As a result, staff from the Environmental Protection Department compiled an inspection report and made mandatory proposals to address the identified deficiencies in accordance with Articles 9 and 69 of the Law of the Republic of Tajikistan "On Environmental Protection."
The concrete around the trees has now been removed, and watering has been provided. The issue has been fully resolved in accordance with legal requirements.
