As part of the preparations for the celebration of the 35th Anniversary of the State Independence of the Republic of Tajikistan, improvement and sanitation activities aimed at enhancing the environmental condition of settlements are continuing across the cities and districts of Sughd Province.
In the Asht rural municipality of Asht district, an environmental campaign entitled “Clean shore” was organized at the initiative of the district environmental protection department to clean the channel of the Ashtsoy stream. More than 100 representatives of educational institutions and local residents took part in the event. During the campaign, 3 kilometers of the stream channel were cleared of various types of waste, and a total of 4.6 cubic meters of garbage were collected and removed.
At the same time, in cooperation with the district executive authority, four warning information boards were installed along the Khujand-Asht highway. These boards are intended to prevent environmental pollution and littering of roadside areas, as well as to promote environmental awareness and ecological culture among the population.
The Main Department for Environmental Protection of Sughd Province and its local subdivisions in cities and districts continue to organize and conduct weekly activities until the celebration of the 35th Anniversary of the State Independence of the Republic of Tajikistan. These activities include environmental campaigns, prevention of water source pollution, removal of unmanaged waste, irrigation of planted saplings, and other measures aimed at improving the environmental condition of local areas.
