Today in Dushanbe, the first meeting of the Ecosystem Restoration Convergence / ERC - Multi-Stakeholder Platform for Sustainable Land Management in Tajikistan - took place.
Held at Rumi Hotel as a side event of the Fourth High-Level International Conference on the International Decade for Action “Water for Sustainable Development”, the event brought together more than 130 participants.
The platform gathered representatives of government institutions, development partners, civil society, the private sector, academia, and local communities. The main focus was on how to strengthen coordination in the management of land resources (pasture, forest, agricultural land etc.) amid climate change and growing pressure on natural resources.
ERC is designed not as a one-off event, but as a regular multi-stakeholder platform that will help bring together knowledge, experience, and resources for sustainable natural resource management in Tajikistan.
The event was organized by the Committee for Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan and Acted Tajikistan, with the support of AKF, European Union in Tajikistan, UNDP Tajikistan and the Government of Switzerland
