On May 19 of the current year, unstable weather conditions are forecast across the republic. In most regions, including the districts of republican subordination, the Kulyab group of districts, and the foothill areas of Sughd Region, heavy torrential rains are expected. Thunderstorms and hail are also possible in some areas.
Due to precipitation on May 19, water levels are expected to rise in the Zeravshan, Obikhingou, Vakhsh, Yakhsu, and Kyzylsu (southern) rivers, as well as in rivers flowing from the southern slopes of the Gissar Range.
On May 19-20, because of the expected rainfall, there is a risk of mudflows across most parts of the republic, except for the eastern districts of the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region.
Citizens are advised to observe safety precautions during adverse weather conditions.
