On May 8, 2026, a meeting was held in Dushanbe between Bahodur Ahmadjon Sheralizoda, Chairman of the Committee for Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan and Sameh Wahba, Regional Director for Sustainable Development for Europe and Central Asia at the World Bank.
During the meeting, the parties discussed issues related to the development of cooperation in the areas of sustainable development, environmental protection, climate change adaptation, air quality management, and the transition toward the digitalization of the environmental sector.
Particular attention was also paid to further discussions on attracting grant financing from specialized climate funds for the implementation of programs and strategies adopted by the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the parties expressed their readiness to further expand cooperation and jointly implement environmental initiatives, emphasizing the importance of coordinated efforts in the field of environmental protection.
