In order to ensure environmental safety and maintain cleanliness in the centers of cities and districts of the Sughd Region, as well as on streets, neighborhoods, roads, and riverbanks, continuous measures are being taken with the active involvement of representatives of institutions and organizations, residents of urban and rural municipalities, citizens, and volunteers. This initiative will continue until the celebration of the 35th anniversary of the State Independence of the Republic of Tajikistan.
During the past week, in the Bobojon Ghafurov District, particularly in the Dadoboy Kholmatov rural jamoat, the “Clean Area” campaign was organized. In addition, along the Khujand - Ghafurov - Asht highway, the “Clean Highway” campaign was carried out to clear the roadsides of weeds and dry grass. Decorative evergreen tree saplings planted as part of the greening campaign were also watered.
At the same time, illegal waste disposal sites located along the Dushanbe -Khujand-Chanok highway within the territory of the mentioned rural jamoat were removed using special equipment.
Overall, more than 400 people participated in these activities, and during the beautification works, 20 cubic meters of waste were collected and removed.
Furthermore, in the Zafarobod District, the “Clean Area” and “Clean Riverbank” campaigns were held with the participation of 160 people, while in the Spitamen District, the “Clean Area” and “Clean Highway” campaigns involved more than 200 participants. Similar events were also organized in other cities and districts of the region.
