Based on the directive of the leadership of the Committee for Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, and in celebration of the 35th anniversary of the State Independence of the Republic of Tajikistan, as well as within the framework of declaring 2026 as the Year of expanding beautification and construction efforts and strengthening self-awareness and national identity, and in honor of Capital City Day, an environmental campaign titled “Clean Shore” was held along the Kofarnihon River.
During the campaign, organized with the participation of employees of the Committee for Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, the Main Department of Environmental Protection of Dushanbe, the executive body of state authority of the Firdavsi district, and members of the Volunteer Club under the Chairman of Dushanbe, the riverbank was thoroughly cleaned of solid household and plastic waste. In total, more than 20 cubic meters of waste were collected and transported to the city landfill.
Such environmental initiatives undoubtedly contribute to maintaining the cleanliness of residential areas, as well as riverbanks and canals. Moreover, they help raise environmental awareness and promote a responsible attitude toward the environment within society.
