Employees of the environmental protection authorities of the Sughd region solemnly and magnificently celebrated the international holiday of Navruz. The Head of the Main Department of Environmental Protection of the region, Kholzoda Sukhrob Khol, delivered a congratulatory speech. He noted that thanks to the wise initiatives of the Founder of Peace and National Unity - Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon, Navruz was granted international status at the 64th session of the United Nations General Assembly in 2010. For 16 years, this festival of nature’s renewal has been celebrated as an international holiday in many countries around the world.
Navruz is part of the history and rich values of human civilization, preserving universal ideals over the centuries. With the arrival of Navruz, tree-planting and greening campaigns across the country gain new momentum and receive widespread public support.
This year, the structural subdivisions of the Main Department presented festive Navruz tables, while employees actively participated in sports competitions such as tug of war, arm wrestling, and among women - traditional ugro preparation, along with other Navruz games.
During the event, the Head of the Department, Kholzoda Sukhrob Khol, awarded winners of competitions, participants, and active contributors with diplomas and commemorative gifts for the best festive table and achievements in the contests.
