On March 10 of this year, a training seminar was held in the conference hall of the Committee for Environmental Protection within the framework of the project “Process of Effective Capacity Building of the National Adaptation Plan in Tajikistan.” The seminar was organized for members of the Environmental Training Center for Nature Lovers and the Eco-Volunteers Club of the Committee.
It should be noted that the above-mentioned project is implemented with the support of the Green Climate Fund and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in order to implement the National Strategy for Climate Change Adaptation until 2030. The project is aimed at employees and specialists of ministries and government agencies, as well as various groups of the population.
A specialist from the Project Implementation Center of the Committee for Environmental Protection, Orzu Odinaev, provided participants with information about the nature of climate change and measures for adapting to it.
Then, in order to assess the level of knowledge acquired and the understanding of the topic, the participants began working on a group assignment. The students of Lyceum № 3 for gifted students of Dushanbe completed the task particularly actively and successfully. Through their presentations and well-grounded answers, they demonstrated a good understanding of the topic of climate change adaptation and expressed their interest in participating in practical adaptation activities.
