On January 14 of the current year, at the initiative of the Department of Environmental Protection in the Varzob District, a tree-planting event was held as part of the implementation of the state environmental policy, the National Climate Change Adaptation Strategy, and the State Greening Program, as well as in connection with the declaration of 2026 as the “Year of Expanding Improvement and Creative Works and Strengthening National Self-Awareness and Identity.”
The event took place at the 29th kilometer of the Dushanbe - Chanok protocol highway and on the hills of Jirino village in the Varzob District, with the participation of the district chairman, representatives of executive bodies of state authority, relevant institutions, and more than 160 local residents.
During the campaign, in compliance with agrotechnical requirements, more than 710 coniferous juniper saplings were planted, and the necessary measures were taken to ensure their further care and survival.
