Department for Environmental Protection of Sughd Region, in cooperation with the Regional Department of Education and the public organization “Youth Group for Environmental Protection” Aarhus Centre in the city of Khujand, worked on developing the “Guidelines on Environmental Education in Preschool Institutions.” As a result of this joint effort, the methodological guide was prepared and published.
As pilot sites, preschool institutions in the cities and districts of Khujand, Buston, Guliston, Istiqlol, and B. Gafurov were selected. A roundtable discussion for educators from these institutions was organized and held in the hall of Nursery-Kindergarten №18 in the city of Khujand.
During the event, representatives of environmental protection authorities, the education sector, and public organizations presented the “Guidelines on Environmental Education in Preschool Institutions” to kindergarten directors and teachers. They also provided a number of visual and teaching materials for conducting lessons and games with children of senior groups aged 5-6.
In the future, cooperation with preschool institutions in the above-mentioned cities and districts will be expanded, and measures will be implemented to introduce these guidelines and ensure coverage of all preschool institutions across the region.
