On December 11, a round table on “The Necessity of Developing Eco-Volunteering in Tajikistan,” dedicated to the International Mountain Day, was held in the conference hall of the Committee for Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan. More than 20 eco-volunteers from universities in the capital participated.
First Deputy Chairman of the Committee, Shukurzoda I., delivered a welcoming speech, noting that volunteering is not only an activity but also a value and an example of high civic culture. He also welcomed the initiative of the Chairman of the National Assembly and the Mayor of Dushanbe to establish the “Eco-Volunteers Club.” It was emphasized that eco-volunteers play an important role in protecting Tajikistan’s unique nature and inspire others to participate in environmental protection.
The round table also discussed International Mountain Day, the eco-volunteers’ club activities in 2025, future prospects and challenges, and the plan of events for 2026. Four members – Saidova Husnoro, Salimov Salimjon, Rajabova Marhabo, and Navruzov Abdumalik – were awarded Certificates of Appreciation by the Committee for their active participation in national and international environmental events.
