The Zarrinrud stream, which runs through a large part of the city of Istaravshan, has in certain areas turned into a site for unauthorized waste disposal. The timely removal of abandoned waste remains under the постоянный supervision of the city’s environmental protection authorities, and environmental campaigns, community clean-up activities and subbotniks are organized annually in order to prevent pollution of water sources.
Within the framework of this initiative by the Department of Environmental Protection in the city of Istaravshan, over the course of a week, cleaning works were carried out in the urban sections of the Zarrinrud stream from abandoned waste and swampy areas. For this purpose, 4 units of heavy special equipment and 1 unit of equipment belonging to the State Unitary Enterprise “Housing and коммунal Services” were mobilized and used. As a result, 7 kilometers of the territory and the adjacent areas of the stream were cleaned, and 24 cubic meters of waste were transported to the municipal landfill of the city of Istaravshan.
In anticipation of the upcoming national holidays and in order to improve the environmental situation, landscaping works and the removal of abandoned waste in the territories of the city’s jamoats and rural settlements, including along the Zarrinrud stream, will be continued.
