As part of the preparations for the visit of high-ranking guests to Sughd Province a tree-planting campaign was held in several cities and districts.
One such event, attended by the Head of the Main Department for Environmental Protection in Sughd Province, Kholzoda S., staff of various departments and units of the agency, in cooperation with the Public Organization “Youth Group for Environmental Protection,” the international organization GIZ, volunteers — members of the youth movement “Green Observers” from the secondary school of Guliston city, as well as the agricultural enterprise of Babajan Gafurov district — took place on the territory of this enterprise, which borders the entrance to the city’s recreation area. More than 200 saplings of evergreen ornamental pine trees were planted there.
It should be noted that similar events held in other parts of Babajan Gafurov district, along the Dushanbe–Chanak highway in Jabbor Rasulov district, as well as the planting of seasonal flowers in the center and streets of Khujand city and other cities and districts, contribute to the implementation of the “State Program for Greening the Republic of Tajikistan until 2040” and the action plan for 2025–2027.
The autumn–winter tree-planting campaign for 2025 has begun in the region, and greening and landscaping activities are ongoing.
