On 12 November 2025, the delegation of the Republic of Tajikistan took part in the 30th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP-30), which is being held from 10 to 21 November 2025 in Belém, Brazil
COP-30 has become a key platform for negotiations on the implementation of climate commitments. The main themes of the forum include reducing greenhouse gas emissions, mobilizing climate finance for developing countries, protecting biodiversity, and ensuring a just transition.
Special attention is given to adaptation to the impacts of climate change and efforts to address loss and damage caused by climate-related events.
The focus of the Tajikistan delegation is on protecting glacier ecosystems, promoting the initiative of the Republic of Tajikistan to preserve glaciers as strategic sources of freshwater, and mobilizing climate finance to ensure access to resources for implementing projects aimed at adapting to the negative consequences of climate change.
It is expected that COP-30 will conclude with a package of decisions aimed at strengthening global action on climate change. The delegation hopes that its position will be taken into account and that the negotiations will secure concrete commitments from the international community to support the most vulnerable countries, including developing landlocked nations.
