According to the Law of the Republic of Tajikistan "On the Protection of Atmospheric Air," the burning of any waste, including leaves and fallen foliage is prohibited.
Considering that it is currently the autumn season, large amounts of fallen leaves are collected daily across the country as a result of street cleaning.
It should be noted that during the burning of leaves, toxic substances are released into the environment, which negatively affect human health. In particular, people suffering from respiratory, heart, and vascular diseases may experience a worsening of their condition.
In this regard, environmental protection inspectors constantly carry out state monitoring to prevent cases of leaf burning and provide recommendations on proper methods of leaf disposal.
Inspectors of the environmental protection authorities of the republic have strengthened control in this area and, during this period, identified 2,076 cases of legal violations and drew up 2,137 administrative reports for air pollution.
