The Committee for Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, with the aim of improving environmental legislation and ensuring the implementation of the country’s strategic planning documents including the National Development Strategy of the Republic of Tajikistan for the period up to 2030, the Medium-Term Development Program of the Republic of Tajikistan for 2021-2025, the State Environmental Program of the Republic of Tajikistan for 2023-2028, and the Concept of Legal Policy of the Republic of Tajikistan for 2018-2028 has developed a Draft Environmental Code of the Republic of Tajikistan consisting of two parts (general and special) and comprising 40 chapters and 570 articles.
It should be noted that the Draft Environmental Code of the Republic of Tajikistan has been developed based on the current environmental legislation by specialists in the field and experienced legal experts, taking into account the analysis and study of the country’s environmental regulatory acts, the experience of developed countries, and the practice of the authorized state body.
As a codified normative legal act of comprehensive nature, this Code regulates a wide range of legal relations arising in the field of environmental protection and the rational use of natural resources.
The Draft Code is presented for review and discussion by a broad range of state authorities, international organizations, public associations, the scientific community, as well as by individuals and legal entities.
In this regard, all interested parties are invited to submit their comments and proposals on the Draft Code to the Committee for Environmental Protection by December 20, 2025
