On October 17, 2025, within the framework of the UNDP/GEF project "Conservation and
Sustainable Management of valuable arid ecosystems of the lower reaches of the Amu Darya
Basin", which is being implemented by the National Biodiversity and Biosafety Center of the
Committee for Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, a
solemn ceremony was held to transfer equipment and work clothes.
The purchased equipment and work clothes were provided for local employees of specially
protected natural areas, in particular the reserves "Tigrovaya Balka", "Dashtijum", the natural
park "Sarikhosor", as well as the regional forestry rangers "Hirmanjo", "Siehkuh",
"Childukhtaron" and "Norak".
Workwear is provided for each department. Mountain bikes were also purchased for convenient
movement around protected areas and monitoring, mini tractors were purchased for field work
and sowing, which were transferred for further use.
The project provides for measures to strengthen the capacity of specialists in specially protected
natural areas through awareness-raising trainings, the development of digital maps and the
purchase of necessary equipment and inventory that will contribute to the effective conduct of
daily work and the prevention of offenses.
The issues of conservation of biodiversity and its components are one of the integral parts of the
development strategy of the Republic of Tajikistan as the basis for food security, economic
development, social and cultural issues of the country.
