As part of the working visit of the Founder of Peace and National Unity – Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, H.E. Emomali Rahmon, to the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region, a new snow and temperature monitoring station building was inaugurated in the Navobod Jamoat of Shughnon district.
The new station is equipped with modern monitoring equipment and offers broad opportunities for observing and assessing snow and temperature conditions in the region. This initiative was implemented with the technical support of the Swiss Cooperation Agency and the in-kind assistance of the Aga Khan Agency for Habitat, contributing to the improvement of meteorological and hydrological services.
The opening of such an important facility in the sector, on the eve of the 35th anniversary of the country’s Independence, stands as yet another example of infrastructure development and the strengthening of climate security in the region.
