State Independence — a Factor in the Progress of the National Economy

State independence is the greatest political and historical achievement of the Tajik people, providing a solid foundation for building a sovereign, democratic, law-based, and secular state. The achievement, preservation, and strengthening of this invaluable blessing was not an easy task. For the establishment, protection, and development of the national state, thousands of devoted sons of the Motherland sacrificed their lives and worked tirelessly day and night for the strengthening of national statehood.
On this decisive and historic path, the Founder of Peace and National Unity — Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, respected Emomali Rahmon — played an exceptionally important and historic role. It was through his strong will, wise policy, and consistent efforts that Tajikistan was brought out of the turmoil of civil war, disunity, and the threat of losing its statehood.
Numerous peace negotiations and meetings, domestic and foreign visits, as well as political measures created a solid foundation for restoring peace and stability, achieving national unity, and strengthening modern Tajik statehood.
Over the years of independence, the Republic of Tajikistan has embarked on a path of sustainable development and achieved significant progress in the political, economic, social, and cultural spheres. Thanks to the efforts and dedication of the state leadership and the proud Tajik people, the country's infrastructure has developed, hundreds of important economic and social facilities have been constructed, the standard of living of the population has gradually improved, and Tajikistan's authority and standing in the international arena have been strengthened.
For the Tajik people, independence is not only a symbol of freedom and statehood, but also an important factor in the revival of national values, language, culture, self-awareness, and national identity. It was precisely during the period of independence that the opportunity arose to independently determine the country's path of further development, strengthen civil society, the rule of law, and human rights and freedoms.
Today, thanks to state independence, Tajikistan, as an independent state, occupies a worthy position in the international community and develops friendly relations and mutually beneficial cooperation with various countries around the world. As an active member of the international community, the Republic of Tajikistan makes a valuable contribution to addressing major global issues, including water and climate-related challenges, combating modern threats, and strengthening peace and security.
As the Leader of the Nation, respected Emomali Rahmon, emphasized: “Independence has provided us with a historic opportunity to become masters of our Motherland, revive our national statehood, fulfill the long-standing aspirations of our people, and ensure a peaceful and free life for our people.”
Today, the sacred duty of every citizen of Tajikistan is to preserve and strengthen state independence. To fulfill this great national mission, every resident of the country, regardless of nationality, language, place of residence, religion, or social status, should contribute to strengthening national unity, respecting the law, developing the state, and raising a self-aware and patriotic generation.
Only through unity and mutual understanding, constructive work, and a strong sense of responsibility can we make the state independence of Tajikistan strong and sustainable and protect it from all kinds of threats and dangers.
