Thanks to the efficient use of land and the timely efforts of farmers, a rich harvest of vegetables and various agricultural crops has been obtained in the fields of Dusti District, and its collection is continuing in an organized manner. The abundance of agricultural products is the result of the conscientious work of farmers and the rational use of natural resources, primarily aimed at meeting the needs of the consumer market.
The targeted use of every plot of land, increasing agricultural production, and obtaining abundant and high-quality yields are among the priority directions of the agrarian policy of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan. For this purpose, agricultural producers of Khatlon Region, including Dusti District, strive to fulfill the instructions of the country’s top leadership and ensure food security by effectively using available land resources and favorable climatic conditions.
At present, the harvesting of early vegetables has begun in the district’s farms, and fresh products are being supplied to markets. Early onions, potatoes, cabbage, cauliflower, and beetroot are already supplying domestic markets and the markets of the capital. According to specialists, this year the onion harvest is particularly high—more than 600 centners per hectare, which is considered a strong indicator.
Industry specialists note that timely care and the use of modern farming methods have made it possible to improve product quality and increase yields. A clear example of such a rational approach to land use is the seed-producing farm named after Ergash Sultonov. Dozens of crop varieties are cultivated there, and agrotechnical measures, including inter-row cultivation, fertilization, and timely irrigation, are carried out using modern equipment.
According to farm officials, proper land use makes it possible to obtain up to three harvests per year. For example, after harvesting one crop, another is planted on the same plot, which contributes to increasing land-use efficiency.
At the same time, the farm has organized the cultivation of crops both in open fields and in seasonal and year-round greenhouses. This practice makes it possible to ensure the production of fresh products throughout the year and continuously supply markets with domestic vegetables.
Farmers themselves express satisfaction with the conditions created and emphasize that land is their main source of livelihood and prosperity. Through honest work, they not only support their own lives but also make a significant contribution to ensuring the country’s food security.
Overall, the efficient use of land and the sustainable development of agriculture in Dusti District are indicators of the practical implementation of the state’s agrarian policy at the local level and create favorable conditions for market supply, improving living standards, and strengthening the country’s food security.
