It should be noted that 2026 in the Republic of Tajikistan has been declared the “Year of Expanding Beautification and Construction Activities, as well as Strengthening National Self-Awareness and Identity” by the Decree of the Founder of Peace and National Unity — Leader of the Nation, President Emomali Rahmon. This initiative was proposed in the President’s annual Address to the Majlisi Oli (Parliament) of the Republic of Tajikistan on December 16, 2025, and is dedicated to the 35th anniversary of State Independence.
The President emphasized that 2026 is a historic year, and the honorable people of Tajikistan should expand beautification efforts and keep their homes, streets, and neighborhoods clean and orderly. This declaration symbolizes the continuation of sustainable development and national unity in the country.
Over the years of independence, Tajikistan has overcome destruction and transformed into a state with modern infrastructure. In honor of the 35th anniversary of independence, more than 26,000 facilities had been put into operation by 2025, most of which were built with the participation of entrepreneurs and the people of the country.
Beautification means improvement, enhancement, cleanliness, and infrastructure development, including the construction of roads, recreational parks, and modern multi-story buildings. All these efforts improve living conditions and enhance the beauty of the الوطن (Homeland).
During working visits, President Emomali Rahmon personally reviews the progress of beautification projects and gives specific instructions. Over the past five years, more than 20 billion somoni have been spent on improving the country, which reflects peace, stability, and national unity.
Beautification and construction are two aspects of Tajikistan’s development: material and spiritual. Under the leadership of the President, the country is confidently moving toward a bright future. The year 2026 provides an opportunity to expand constructive work, and every citizen is responsible for contributing to the development of their homeland. This is the path to preserving sovereignty, unity, and progress of independent Tajikistan.
In this regard, it should be noted that, on the initiative and under the guidance of the Academy of Agricultural Sciences of Tajikistan, as well as through the continuous efforts of the Director of the Institute of Soil Science and Agrochemistry, reconstruction and beautification work is actively ongoing at the institution and its stations and bases in honor of the 35th anniversary of State Independence.
In particular, to date, the centralized laboratory for soil and plant diagnostics at the institute has been thoroughly renovated and equipped with modern technology. The second floor of the building and staff offices have also undergone major renovation. In addition, at the base of districts under republican subordination, in the city of Vahdat, a year-round greenhouse has been repaired, and a 2.5-hectare nursery has been established for growing seedlings (apple, walnut, apricot, plum, cherry, and pear). At the Karsang base of Fayzabad district, an intensive orchard covering 6 hectares and a new vineyard of 3 hectares have been established.
Similar constructive activities are also continuing at the experimental, melioration, and soil science stations in Vakhsh and Sughd regions. On the initiative and with the support of the Head of State, President Emomali Rahmon, a modern mobile digital laboratory for soil diagnostics was presented to the Sughd experimental station on the eve of the Navruz holiday. This will enable farmers in the region to quickly obtain scientifically grounded information about the condition of their land.
The institute’s leadership intends, in line with the constructive policy of the Leader of the Nation, Emomali Rahmon, to complete additional beautification and construction projects in preparation for the celebration of the 35th anniversary of State Independence of the Republic of Tajikistan.
