It should be noted that the celebration of Mehrgon holds a special place in the history of Tajik statehood. According to historical sources, Mehrgon is a festival of harvest, abundance, and joy, symbolizing love, unity, friendship, happiness, and festivity.
It is worth mentioning that thanks to the culture-promoting policy of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon, the Mehrgon festival was included last year in the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, becoming another proud page in the list of national celebrations.
On October 19 of the current year, in the Firdavsi Cultural and Recreational Park in Dushanbe, the Ministry of Agriculture, along with its affiliated institutions and organizations, together with farmers from various regions of the country, presented a wide variety of agricultural products in honor of the Mehrgon celebration.
Hardworking and dedicated farmers, expressing gratitude for the blessings of independence in the atmosphere of full peace and stability in the country, strived—through the fruits of their labor—to make a valuable contribution to enriching the people's festive table and ensuring the food security of our beloved Motherland.
On this day, the Mehrgon festival was held alongside the Beekeepers’ Festival, a honey exhibition-sale, exhibitions of apples and grapes, various types of melon and gourd products, the "Oshi Palav" Festival, and a rice and paddy exhibition-sale.
