As part of the study on strategic preparedness to support climate change initiatives in Georgia and other regions of the world, a group of national specialists and international guests paid a working visit today to the Institute of Soil Science and Agrochemistry to familiarize themselves with the experience of scientists in the field of soil science.
The participants of the meeting noted that climate change and its impact on the agricultural sector do not go unnoticed, particularly in terms of preventing soil erosion and degradation, which is a growing concern among scientists. They emphasized the urgent need to take more active measures to counter such negative phenomena.
During the visit, the guests also toured the Central Laboratory for Soil and Plant Analysis, where they became acquainted with newly installed equipment and mobile laboratories. These are expected to significantly contribute to the work of scientists, specialists, and farmers in the future. The visitors described this research trip as an important step toward meeting the pressing need for practical knowledge.
