**Language is the most important means of communication between people, and society and language are interdependent. One of the main attributes of a nation and a mirror of a people's culture is its language. A person can express their thoughts in different ways, but the primary tool for conveying human thought is language. Every living language bears witness to the existence of a particular nation.**
It should be noted that the Law on the Tajik Language was adopted on July 22, 1989, and a new version of the Law was approved on October 5, 2009. A nation is recognized as sovereign and civilized precisely through its language. Language is the sole means of preserving the precious material and spiritual heritage of each people. Throughout human history, approximately 9,000 languages have disappeared — a trend that has affected even the languages of global superpowers.
**The Tajik language is considered one of the world’s most ancient and written languages and has gone through three major stages of development. For more than a thousand years, the Tajik people have spoken this beautiful language, recording their unique culture like a green line from one page of history to the next.**
The existence of every nation is closely tied to honoring and preserving its language. Every citizen of Tajikistan is obliged to cherish their mother tongue and encourage others to learn it.
