On March 21, in Ayni District, the International Navruz holiday—considered by the Tajik people as a symbol of the revival of nature, the beginning of the new year, and the embodiment of high national values—was celebrated with special brilliance and solemnity.
In honor of the holiday, the central airport square of the district was transformed into a true Navruz celebration venue, decorated with festive installations, pavilions, and beautifully arranged yurts, creating a festive atmosphere. Ancient national traditions were revived here: festive tables of “Haftsin” and “Haftshin” were displayed, along with traditional holiday dishes, including sumanak and various sweets.
In addition, products of local artisans such as carpet weaving, embroidery, felting, pottery, gold embroidery, basket weaving, and other folk crafts attracted the attention of participants. These exhibitions reflected the rich national culture and contributed to the preservation of ancient traditions.
As part of the festive events, national games and sports competitions added even more vibrancy to the celebration. The active participation of children and young people in these games had educational significance and created favorable conditions for the younger generation to become acquainted with history and national culture.
At the initiative of the district executive authorities, the festive program was rich and diverse. Interesting competitions such as “Osh,” “Oshkhur,” and “Skillful Hands” were held, demonstrating the craftsmanship of women artisans and skilled cooks. Recreation and entertainment areas, exhibitions, and sales of local products and national dishes were also organized for residents and guests.
