MEETING BETWEEN THE PRESIDENT OF THE ACADEMY OF AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES OF TAJIKISTAN AND MR. GAO HONG WU
Today, a meeting was held at the Academy of Agricultural Sciences of Tajikistan between the President of the Academy, Amonullo Faizullo Salimzoda, and Mr. Gao Hongwu, a representative of the Hong Kong Institute of New Quality Productive Forces.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the development of scientific and technological cooperation in agriculture, including opportunities for potato cultivation using modern technologies and the adaptation of potato varieties and cultivation methods to the climatic conditions of Tajikistan.
The sides emphasized that Tajikistan has diverse climatic zones and significant potential for the development of potato production. Therefore, studying the climatic and agro-ecological characteristics of different regions of the country and selecting suitable potatoes varieties could contribute to increasing productivity and improving the quality of potato production.
The meeting also addressed issues related to conducting joint research, testing potato varieties under Tajikistan’s climatic conditions, applying innovative technologies, improving seed production, and introducing modern agricultural practices.
It was noted that scientific and technological cooperation in this area could contribute to the development of potato production, increasing potato yields, and strengthening the country’s food security.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the sides expressed their readiness to continue mutually beneficial cooperation and develop joint research programs in the field of agriculture, particularly in the field of potato cultivation.
