On April 12 of this year, in a festive atmosphere filled with the unique spirit of Navruz, the central stadium of Lakhsh District hosted one of the most exciting and spectacular traditional wrestling competitions. This event, organized in honor of the international Navruz holiday, brought together thousands of fans of this national sport.
At the opening ceremony, the Chairman of Lakhsh District, Mr. Kholzoda Karomiddin Kamoliddin, took part and congratulated those present on the arrival of the beautiful spring season. In his speech, he emphasized that the main purpose of holding such competitions is, first and foremost, to revive ancestral traditions, promote a healthy lifestyle, and strengthen unity and friendship among young people from different regions of the country.
Athletes not only from Lakhsh District and the Rasht Valley but also from various parts of the republic gathered to take part in this contest of strength. The wrestling arena became a stage for demonstrating the skills of both experienced champions and talented young athletes. Their performances clearly showed that they had prepared seriously for the competition. Every skillful move, impressive throw, and determined effort to win was met with enthusiastic applause from the spectators.
The competition was held in a spirit of fair rivalry and mutual respect. At the end, the Executive Authority of Lakhsh District awarded the winners in different weight categories and the best wrestlers of the tournament with grand prizes, including valuable gifts.
This sporting celebration once again proved that traditional wrestling holds a special place in the hearts of the residents of Lakhsh District, making this year’s Navruz even more memorable and filled with a vibrant sporting spirit.
