On January 29, 2025 a meeting was held between the Director of the Agency for Export under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan Мr. Sirojiddinzoda Bahriddin and the Trade Representative of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Tajikistan Mr. Evgeny Anatolyevich Korenkov.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the current state and future prospects of cooperation between Tajikistan and Russia in the field of exports. Parties also exchanged views on ways to expand trade relations between the two countries.
It was emphasized that the Republic of Tajikistan, as a reliable partner in trade and exports, possesses significant potential for cooperation. The Russian side was encouraged to leverage these opportunities based on mutual interests and benefits.
It was noted that the foreign trade turnover between Tajikistan and Russia in 2024 amounted to $1.98 billion, reflecting a 15.5% increase compared to 2023.
The meeting also addressed the establishment of an export logistics center in the Khatlon region. The Trade Representative of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Tajikistan expressed readiness to assist in securing funding for the implementation of this project.
It was also noted that Tajikistan has ample opportunities for exporting early and seasonal agricultural products, as well as industrial goods, and interest was expressed in cooperation with major trading centers of the Russian Federation.
