The Agency for export under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, in order to implement the instructions and directives of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, the Leader of the Nation, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon, regarding the identification of ways and means to support and encourage cotton-growing dehkan (peasant) farms, is taking necessary measures by mobilizing its employees to cotton-producing regions of the country.
It should be noted that a working group consisting of the leadership and staff of the Agency for export has been formed. Members of this group carried out regular work visits to Yovon District during March, April, May, and June of 2025 and visited the district’s cotton fields, which represent a key segment of the agricultural and industrial sectors.
Farmers in Yovon District are paying special attention to the cultivation and production of high-quality cotton, allocating 60–65 percent of irrigated arable land for cotton cultivation. Land users in the district are also taking appropriate steps to meet the forecast plan for sowing agricultural crops. As of June 1 of this year, crops have been sown on an area of 22,597 hectares, achieving 100.2% of the plan, with 10,517 hectares dedicated to cotton cultivation.
The cotton has been sown using high-quality, climate-resilient seeds in compliance with agronomic best practices.
