On April 8, 2026, the district stage of the competition for selecting applicants for admission to higher educational institutions of the republic under the Presidential Quota of the Republic of Tajikistan was held at Secondary School No. 1 of Shamsiddin Shohin District across 28 specialties.
Before the start of the competition, a meeting was held in the assembly hall of the educational institution with the participation of applicants and their parents, where the procedure for selecting candidates for admission to higher educational institutions under the Presidential Quota was explained.
At the opening, representatives of the district executive authority, a representative of the executive authority of Khatlon Region, a representative of the regional Department of Education, and the leadership of the district education department participated and delivered speeches.
The establishment of the Presidential Quota by the esteemed Emomali Rahmon was an important and timely initiative. In remote districts, there are young people with strong academic abilities, but their living conditions do not allow them to continue their education at universities and institutes after graduating from school. Therefore, the Presidential Quota provides a valuable opportunity for them to study free of charge. As is well known, the President of the country repeatedly emphasizes in his speeches that youth are the future of the nation. The establishment of the Presidential Quota demonstrates that the Head of State consistently pays special attention to young people and supports them, as noted by the speakers in their remarks.
