Opening of the Rare Animal Nursery and Visit to the Exhibition of Forestry Products in the District
On October 21, the Founder of National Unity – Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, during his working visit to the Khatlon region, opened the rare animal nursery in the Muminabad district and visited the exhibition of forestry products of the district.
The Head of State, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, visited the 5-hectare intensive orchard of the "Childuhtaroun" Limited Liability Company and got acquainted with the growth of fruits in the orchard, mainly apple trees.
During the visit, while reviewing the activities of the orchard workers of "Childuhtaroun" LLC, the President instructed the company management to, considering the favorable climate conditions, organize the planting of pear trees on 3 hectares of land in addition to the apple orchard in the future.
The total area of the nursery is 363 hectares, and the climate of the Muminabad district is favorable for breeding rare animals.
It was reported to the Leader of the Nation, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, that wild animals such as bears, foxes, wolves, jackals, lynxes, and various species of birds, including falcons, hawks, and eagles, inhabit the forests of the district.
Here, President Emomali Rahmon released rare animals into nature to increase their population.
The nursery has created favorable conditions for the care and gradual increase in the population of rare animals.
The territory of the nursery is enclosed with a mesh fence, which allows for the protection and increase of rare animals’ numbers each year.
The favorable climate conditions of Tajikistan, especially the Muminabad district, allow for the annual increase in the population of rare animals with proper breeding and care.
The development of breeding and care for rare animals contributes to the development of tourism, especially ecological tourism, which will become an important factor in attracting both domestic and foreign tourists to Tajikistan in the future.
During his inspection of the nursery conditions, created in the picturesque Muminabad district, the President had an earnest conversation with industry representatives and gave specific instructions for increasing the population of rare animals, proper breeding, and the adaptation of animals brought from abroad to Tajikistan’s climate.
The presence of such natural opportunities is of great importance for preserving biodiversity and increasing rare species of animals. In the natural and geographical conditions of Tajikistan, the creation of nurseries and reserves is particularly significant, contributing to the increase in the population of rare animals and being one of the long-term goals of the country’s government.
The nursery is located in a picturesque area of the Muminabad district with favorable climatic conditions, where various trees and wild herbs grow. This area is ideal for the development of walnut trees, wild rose, hawthorn, forest apple trees, and other plants, while evergreen trees create a green landscape.
The forestry of the Muminabad district has 17,423 hectares of land. The forestry staff consists of 34 employees, and during the harvest season of trees and medicinal plants such as thyme, "buyi modaron," oregano, mint, and sage, over 60 workers are hired.
Employees of the country's forestry departments are involved not only in breeding animals and plants but also in harvesting fruits and medicinal herbs abundant in Tajikistan’s nature.
According to the workers of the Muminabad forestry department, there are currently 3 tons of walnuts, 2 tons of dried fruits (mostly wild apples), 500 kg of wild rose, 100 kg of hawthorn, and 600 kg of medicinal herbs such as thyme, mint, and sage in storage.
At this location, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, also visited the exhibition of natural and high-quality products from the country’s forestry enterprises.
Forestry workers presented various products, including fresh and dried fruits such as mountain plums, wild apples, wild rose, yellow and red hawthorn, apricots, wild cherries, walnuts, bitter almonds, barberries, sea buckthorn, and honey.
After the announcement of the “Year of Development of Villages, Tourism, and Handicrafts” and the improvement of the functioning of the country’s reserves, the interest of both domestic and international tourists, including hunters, in the opportunities for the development of international tourism in Tajikistan has significantly increased.
It should be noted that the country has many reserves and forestry enterprises. The goal of their creation is to protect and increase the population of animals and plants.
The activities of forestry enterprises and nurseries contribute to the development of ecological tourism and the attraction of more tourists both domestically and internationally.
Practice shows that the work of forestry enterprises is beneficial for increasing biodiversity, protecting rare animals and plants, growing seedlings, and generally contributing to the country’s economic development.
It is worth particularly noting that the unique and picturesque nature of Tajikistan attracts increasing attention from tourists both within the country and beyond its borders.
The security and stability in the country, the development of key sectors, the change of picturesque seasons, clean rivers and springs, high mountains, historical landmarks, reserves, and rare animals create conditions for increasing the flow of tourists to Tajikistan.
