Our blessed and ancient national celebration — Navruz, brings with its noble message a renewed beauty to the nature of our beloved homeland, joy and happiness to the homes of our people, prosperity and blessings, and inspires both young and old with hope and noble aspirations.
Thanks to the continuous efforts of the Founder of Peace and National Unity, Leader of the Nation, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, Navruz was recognized as an international holiday by the United Nations General Assembly on February 23, 2010. This recognition is a testament to the fact that since ancient times our nation, with pure intentions and high ideals, has created a celebration that carries the message of unity and love, purity and loyalty, beauty, awakening, and hard work. Today, Navruz is celebrated with great splendor across all countries of the Navruz cultural sphere and around the world.
The Founder of Peace and National Unity, Leader of the Nation, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, has expressed the following about this invaluable heritage of our people:
“Navruz brings a message of joy and happiness, blossoming and beauty, marks the beginning of spring sowing, symbolizes the revival of nature, and inspires renewal in the human spirit.”
Navruz, which was revived in the Republic of Tajikistan with all its richness and diversity thanks to state independence, has now become our national and state holiday — a symbol of national identity and pride, unity and solidarity of the people, and the connection between generations.
With all its natural beauty and earthly charm, Navruz represents a high culture and civilization, and since ancient times has provided a strong spiritual foundation for love, sincerity, mutual understanding, and unity among people.
During the days of Navruz, abandoning resentment and hostility, forgiving one another, and opening one’s heart to friendship and companionship have become enduring traditions of our people.
In these joyful festive moments, I sincerely congratulate all the proud citizens of our beloved country on the occasion of Navruz — our great national holiday and ancestral New Year. I wish you, above all, good health, dignity, peace, and the very best joys in life.
Happy Navruz, dear compatriots!
