Dear compatriots! I sincerely congratulate all of you on the occasion of the beginning of one of the oldest holidays of the Aryan peoples — the Garden. The Garden Festival, along with our other national holidays, is a valuable spiritual legacy of our glorious ancestors, which was revived thanks to state independence. It should be noted that, despite the artificial obstacles created over the centuries to hold the Garden festival, the Tajik people have preserved it in their memory as a vital value. Since the Garden is based on the ideas of humanism, this ancient holiday, like our other national celebrations, reflects the eternal connection of man with nature and the universe, a symbol of joy and fun, improvement and prosperity, purity and freedom, peace and tranquility, as well as the eternity of warmth and light. In ancient times, especially in the Samanid era, when the Garden festival was celebrated with special pomp and solemnity, these traditions and customs were preserved. The name of the Garden festival is usually associated with the number one hundred, that is, fifty days and fifty nights before Navruz. However, according to some scientists, the word "Garden" comes from the Avestan "sand", meaning appearance, illumination and manifestation, which is associated with light and heat. The source of light and heat is fire, and the appearance of the Garden is associated with the discovery of fire by the legendary king Khushang, the ancestor of the Peshdodi dynasty, as Abulkosim Firdavsi wrote in the Shahnameh: This Garden festival has remained from Khushang as a legacy, May there be many rulers like him., Who delighted the world with his landscaping, And the whole world remembers him with kindness. Over time, this legacy of Hushang has been influenced by various historical factors, as a result of which the traditions of this ancient festival have been weakened. However, they have been preserved not only in the memory of our people, but also in such rituals as rituals and folk traditions. The revival of this ancient holiday during the period of independence has given it life and freshness again as part of the historical memory of the nation. This year marks eight years since the first official celebration of the Garden, and today it has become a national holiday, occupying a special place in society and becoming one of the elements of national identity and historical identity. Thus, the Garden Festival has become widespread and further strengthens our Aryan identity. In addition, in 2023, the Garden festival was included by UNESCO in the list of the intangible cultural heritage of mankind, which is the pride of the Tajik people and all Aryan peoples. The garden is primarily a celebration of farmers and is closely related to agriculture. Its coincidence with the Chillai Kalon period indicates the end of winter and the approach of spring, as well as the beginning of agricultural work. Thus, the Garden symbolizes the transition of nature to Nowruz and the preparation for spring sowing. During this period, farmers begin preparing for agricultural work. Therefore, we need to make the most of every favorable day and expand preparatory work, since a rich harvest and prosperity on the table of the people depend on the work of the country's agricultural producers. As we all see, the problem of providing food to the population in the world and in certain regions is getting worse every day, and prices are becoming unstable due to rising demand. In this regard, we must effectively use all our resources and capabilities to ensure the country's food security. The cleanliness of the environment, as well as the purity of thoughts and hearts, are one of the important components of Tajik national holidays, including Sad. Therefore, each of us should make our beautiful nature even more green and well—maintained these days, and the streets, houses and places of residence should be clean and well-groomed. The most important thing is to prevent hatred and malice from entering our hearts and to value peace, tranquility and unity. This year, our country celebrates an important historical event — the 35th anniversary of state independence. In honor of this great national holiday, 2026 has been declared the Year of Expansion of Landscaping and Creation, as well as strengthening national identity and self-knowledge. In this regard, we must work even harder for the development and prosperity of our beloved country and make it even more comfortable and beautiful. With the hope of further development and prosperity of Tajikistan, I once again sincerely congratulate all the glorious people of the country on the Garden Day and wish every home peace, tranquility, happiness and prosperity. Happy Garden Day, dear compatriots!
