Today, the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Tajikistan held a ceremonial gathering in honor of Justice Workers’ Day, which is celebrated annually on April 20. The event was attended by the leadership, staff of the central office, and structural divisions of the Ministry.
Minister of Justice Muzaffar Ashuriyon noted that the justice bodies of Tajikistan have traveled a long historical path, making a significant contribution to the restoration of justice, the protection of the rights and legal interests of citizens, as well as legal education of the population. In addition, the justice bodies have defined their important place and role within the system of public administration.
“The work of the justice bodies, in its essence and nature, is a state activity carried out within the framework of their established competence. It was during the years of acquiring state independence that this activity saw comprehensive development and laid the foundation for building a democratic, legal, and secular state,” said the Minister of Justice.
It was also emphasized that one of the most significant achievements in the field of legal regulation during the period of independence was the adoption of the Constitution of the Republic of Tajikistan, which was approved by a nationwide referendum on November 6, 1994. The Constitution embodied advanced socio-political ideas, the principle of separation of powers, the full protection of human and civil rights and freedoms, as well as political and ideological pluralism.
Furthermore, it was reported that the Ministry of Justice, alongside judicial bodies, is involved in ensuring and upholding justice, monitoring the compliance of normative legal acts with current legislation, thereby protecting the legal rights and interests of individuals and citizens. This process safeguards not only personal rights and interests, but also the societal and state order, all forms of property, and political, economic, social, and cultural rights and freedoms—as well as the personal and property rights of citizens, and the legal rights and interests of enterprises, institutions, and organizations with various forms of ownership.
