Leader of the Nation Emomali Rahmon instructed the responsible officials to fully eliminate the consequences of the flooding in Rushon District

22 July — Upon returning from his state visit to Mongolia, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon, held a telephone conversation with the Chairman of the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region, Sharifkhon Safarzoda.

During the conversation, the Chairman of the region reported on the progress of efforts to eliminate the consequences of the natural disaster in the Rushon District.

President Emomali Rahmon instructed the leadership of the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region, together with the relevant central government authorities, to fully eliminate the consequences of the severe flooding in Rushon District within one month and to provide urgent assistance to the affected population in restoring residential homes and other essential facilities.

It was emphasized that corresponding instructions had also been given to the Prime Minister of the Republic of Tajikistan, Qohir Rasulzoda, and the heads of the relevant republican authorities. The President also noted that the progress of the recovery and reconstruction efforts remains under his direct supervision.
