On August 5, 2026, the second meeting of acquisitions and the Joint Steering Committee of the Joint Programme "Transforming Food Systems for Improved Nutrition in Tajikistan" was held at the Hilton Hotel in Dushanbe.
The meeting was opened by the First Deputy Chairman of the Food Safety Committee under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, Honorable Shirinjonzoda Mahmud, who welcomed the guests, representatives of relevant ministries and departments, development partners, and international organizations, thanking them for participating in the event.
In his opening remarks, it was emphasized that the implementation of this program is of vital importance for strengthening sustainable food systems, improving the nutritional status of the population, and expanding inter-agency cooperation.
Gratitude was also expressed to the United Nations Resident Coordinator / Representative in Tajikistan, Ms. Parvathy Ramaswami, for her active participation and contribution to the implementation of the joint program.
During the meeting, the participants discussed issues related to the program's implementation process, achieved results, coordination of partners' activities, and future plans, and put forward specific proposals to strengthen cooperation and achieve the program's goals.
