On October 5, 2026, a roundtable discussion entitled “The Language of the Nation is the Being of the Nation” was held with the participation of employees of the Central Office, as well as heads and staff members of the scientific institutions of the Academy of Agricultural Sciences of Tajikistan.
The Vice-President of the Academy of Agricultural Sciences of Tajikistan, Fayzullo Safar Amirshozoda, congratulated the participants on three significant occasions — the birthday of the Founder of Peace and National Unity, Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon, State Language Day, and Teacher’s Day. He then gave the floor to Majid Salim, journalist, writer, and staff member of the Institute of Animal Husbandry and Pastures of the Academy of Agricultural Sciences of Tajikistan.
In his speech, Majid Salim noted that October 5 is a sacred and memorable date for the Tajik people, as three important occasions are commemorated on this day. It is the birthday of the distinguished son of the Tajik people, Emomali Rahmon, as well as State Language Day and Teacher’s Day.
The speaker addressed the status, significance, and history of the state language, emphasizing that from the first days of state independence, President Emomali Rahmon has given primary importance to issues related to the development and strengthening of the state language. One of the first laws adopted during the period of independence concerned the state language.
The adoption of the Law of the Republic of Tajikistan “On the State Language of the Republic of Tajikistan” and the “State Language Development Programme for 2020–2030,” the establishment of the Committee on Language and Terminology under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Higher Attestation Commission under the President of the country, the opening of libraries and the development of various television and radio networks, the organization of national competitions, the publication of explanatory and specialized dictionaries, the printing and distribution of “Shahnameh” by Abulqosim Ferdowsi and “The Tajiks” by Bobojon Gafurov to every family, as well as the collection and mass publication of the valuable literary heritage of past and contemporary authors in 50 volumes under the title “Akhtaroni Adab” — all these initiatives contribute to strengthening the scientific and social potential of the language and further enhancing its status in society.
During the event, a number of scholars and employees of the Academy spoke about the status and importance of the state language, its role in strengthening national identity, preserving cultural values, and honoring the rich heritage of ancestors.
