On April 14 of this year, employees of the Institute of Plant Protection of the Tajik Academy of Agricultural Sciences conducted a working visit to several farms in Hisor City to carry out scientific observations within the framework of cooperation agreements between the institution and dehkan and farming enterprises.
During the working visit, while inspecting wheat cultivation fields, they observed that in some areas the harmful pest known as the wheat leech (sawfly larva) had appeared and was causing damage to the crops.
Therefore, to prevent an increase in the level of infestation, the affected areas were treated with the pesticide Confidor at a rate of 0.5–0.7 l/ha using 200 liters of working solution.
During the same visit, maize crops were also planted on the farm using seeds of local varieties: Basiri and Shuhrat.
