September 4, 2026, Bokhtar
Dear compatriots,
Esteemed representatives of the distinguished people of Khatlon Province and the city of Bokhtar,
Today, the glorious people of Tajikistan are on the eve of celebrating the 35th anniversary of State Independence and are preparing to mark this historic and significant day with worthy achievements.
On the occasion of this sacred and great national holiday, I sincerely congratulate all the distinguished residents of Khatlon Province and the city of Bokhtar, as well as all of you present here, and wish every family health and happiness, peace and tranquility.
I would also like to recall that the first years of independence were an extremely difficult and fateful period in the modern history of the Tajik people, particularly for the residents of Khatlon Province, and became a test of their determination and will.
From the very first days of State Independence, a group of individuals who had lost their national roots, acting on the instructions and incitement of those hostile to the Tajik nation, imposed a war upon the noble people of Tajikistan, which, above all, deprived the residents of Khatlon Province of peace and tranquility.
The imposed civil war created a real threat to the loss of State Independence, the disintegration of the nation, and the disappearance of Tajikistan from the political map of the world.
Khatlon Province, and particularly the city of Bokhtar, which during the years of the imposed civil war was one of the centers of confrontation and instability in the country, suffered serious material and spiritual losses during that period.
The majority of people lost their homes and were forced to flee to foreign countries.
Thousands of residential houses and social institutions, including schools, hospitals, and other social facilities, were burned and destroyed.
During those tragic days, peace and tranquility, security and the well-being of society became the sole dream of the long-suffering people.
Under these circumstances, the Government of the country, using all available means, took urgent measures to ensure the security of society and citizens, facilitate the return of refugees to their homeland, and create conditions for the people of the province to live in peace and tranquility.
The residents of Khatlon Province and the city of Bokhtar, who demonstrated a high sense of national dignity and strong will, made a historic contribution to this difficult process of restoration and development.
It is precisely thanks to the timely measures undertaken by the state and the Government of the country, the tireless efforts of the hardworking people, and the contribution of patriotic entrepreneurs that today the cities and districts of Khatlon Province, including the city of Bokhtar, are among the most beautiful regions of the country.
The construction and reconstruction of thousands of social and industrial facilities, roads, bridges, and other infrastructure and public amenities are today evidence of the unprecedented development of the province and a source of pride for every one of its residents.
In this regard, I express my sincere gratitude to the distinguished and enlightened residents, as well as to the patriotic and generous entrepreneurs of the province and the city of Bokhtar.
Khatlon Province, as the heir to the ancient history and civilization of the Tajik people, is considered one of the country's important tourist and cultural regions.
Today, the province is home to numerous monuments of its glorious past, bearing witness to the antiquity of this region and the activities of its population since ancient times.
It is precisely the recognition of this ancient history and the contribution of these monuments to human civilization that served as the basis for the inclusion of dozens of them on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
Today, the hardworking people of the province, showing deep respect for the history and culture of their ancestors and possessing a strong sense of patriotism and national pride, actively participate in the socio-economic, cultural, and spiritual life of the country and make a worthy contribution to the implementation of the policies pursued by the state and the Government of the country.
Esteemed participants,
We must always remember that all our achievements have been made possible precisely because of State Independence, solidarity and unity, as well as the selfless labor of the noble people of Tajikistan.
Therefore, we must make even greater efforts to preserve and strengthen the achievements of our modern statehood, raise our children in the spirit of self-awareness and self-knowledge, patriotism and love for the homeland, respect for national history and culture, as well as honest and conscientious work.
The youth of the era of independence, who are the standard-bearers and heirs of the Aryan civilization and the cultural and enlightened heritage of the ancestors of the Tajik people, must clearly understand that the bright future of this nation and state depends precisely on their aspirations and diligence, their will and perseverance, and their constructive labor.
At the same time, in the face of the threats and challenges of the modern world, young people must remain politically vigilant, deepen their awareness of their responsibility to the homeland and the nation, and always be ready to defend the interests of their people and state.
I have faith in the strong sense of patriotism and national dignity, the courage and will, devotion and hard work of the residents of Khatlon Province, including the ancient city of Bokhtar.
Once again, I congratulate all the worthy and distinguished residents of Khatlon Province on the 35th anniversary of State Independence.
May the greatness of independence and freedom, the triumph of our own statehood, and love for the homeland always find their reflection and resonate throughout our beloved Tajikistan and in every Tajik home.
Happy 35th anniversary of the State Independence of the Tajik people, dear compatriots!
