On August 26, the working visit of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, respected Emomali Rahmon, to the cities and districts of Khatlon Province began in Yovon District.
At the temporary airfield of Yovon District, the Leader of the Nation, respected Emomali Rahmon, was warmly welcomed by the leadership of Khatlon Province, district officials, and representatives of various sections of society.
In Yovon District, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, respected Emomali Rahmon, first inaugurated the State Flag and State Emblem Square and the monument to Shah Ismail Somoni.
This magnificent architectural complex, reflecting history and civilization, national statehood, and the achievements of independent Tajikistan, was built on Mirzo Tursunzoda Street in Yovon township.
The square of state symbols and the monument to Shah Ismail Somoni occupy an area of 1.1 hectares.
The flagpole of the State Flag is 56 meters high, while the flag displayed above the square measures 15 meters in length and 7.5 meters in width.
The pedestal of the structure was constructed using domestically produced granite.
Adjacent to the State Flag stands the monument to Shah Ismail Somoni, adding further grandeur to the appearance of the area.
The monument itself is 8 meters high, while its total height, including the pedestal, reaches 14 meters.
The use of high-quality locally produced materials and the craftsmanship of Tajik sculptors have given the monument a distinctive appearance, transforming it into an architectural work filled with profound historical and national significance.
The images of lions installed on both sides of the monument symbolize the courage, bravery, and strength of the Tajik people.
Another symbol of an independent state and modern Tajik statehood—the State Emblem—has been erected to a height of 22 meters.
This magnificent architectural structure serves as a symbol of statehood, independence and freedom, national unity, as well as respect for and appreciation of the history and civilization of the nation. It also plays an important role in strengthening national consciousness and fostering a sense of pride and dignity in modern Tajik statehood.
Today, this site has not only transformed the appearance of Yovon District but can also become a unique spiritual school for strengthening national consciousness and patriotic education among the younger generation, as every state symbol presented here is closely connected with the history of the nation, independence, and the values of national statehood.
With the commissioning of the State Flag and State Emblem Square and the monument to Shah Ismail Somoni, Yovon District has gained a new, well-developed, beautiful, and nationally significant public space. From now on, it will serve as a venue for political and cultural events, as well as a place for recreation and leisure for residents and visitors of the district.
Most importantly, this area can become a space where respect for the State Flag, State Emblem, the history of Tajik statehood, and national values will be further and more firmly instilled in the hearts of future generations.
