On July 29, on the sidelines of the opening ceremony of the international tournament "Games of the Future" in Astana, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon, held a meeting with the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, His Excellency Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
During the meeting, the two Heads of State discussed the current state and future prospects of bilateral Tajik-Kazakh relations of friendship, strategic partnership, and allied cooperation.
Both sides expressed satisfaction with the positive momentum of cooperation across virtually all areas. They emphasized the importance of maintaining regular interstate political dialogue and further expanding trade, economic, and investment cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
Particular attention was paid to increasing bilateral trade, advancing cooperation in the fields of transport and logistics, digital technologies, and artificial intelligence. The two leaders also noted the significant growth in bilateral trade turnover recorded during the first half of the current year.
Taking into account the current developments in global and regional energy markets, the parties discussed further increasing supplies of Kazakh petroleum products to the market of Tajikistan.
In the cultural and humanitarian sphere, the two sides supported strengthening exchanges in the fields of culture, education, and academia, as well as enhancing cooperation in tourism, sports, and other areas of mutual interest.
The Presidents also exchanged views on issues of multilateral cooperation within international and regional organizations.
