Congratulatory Message of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon, on the Occasion of Tajik Youth Day
22 May 2026, Dushanbe
Happy Youth of the Country!
Dear Children of the Motherland!
I sincerely congratulate all of you on Tajik Youth Day.
I also extend my congratulations to all young people who are studying and working abroad.
This year, we celebrate Youth Day in a special and historically significant year for the people of Tajikistan — the year marking the 35th anniversary of our State Independence.
Indeed, independence and freedom are the most sacred and important values, the greatest blessing for every patriot of the country, especially for adolescents and young people.
Over the 35 years of independence and the formation of the new Tajik statehood, young people have played an exceptionally important role as an инициативе and driving force of society.
I proudly note that the youth of our country, as an active part of society, are actively participating in the implementation of state policy, the development of the national economy, the progress of science and education, culture, and modern technologies.
They are making a worthy contribution to strengthening the achievements of State Independence, protecting the country’s borders, ensuring the security of society and the state, preserving peace and stability, and advancing the socio-economic development of the state.
Today, there is no sphere in the country in which our youth do not actively participate.
Since the first years of independence, the State and Government of the country have taken extensive measures to create favorable conditions for education, vocational training, sports, entrepreneurship — in short, to ensure that young people occupy a worthy place in society.
First of all, a modern and necessary legal and regulatory framework was established for the successful implementation of the state youth policy.
In particular, all conditions for adolescents and young people to gain knowledge and master professions and crafts have been gradually created, and this process continues consistently.
This is because one of the main paths to the country’s progress and development is the upbringing of an educated and professionally trained younger generation.
It should be noted that over the 35 years of independence, around one million young people have graduated from higher educational institutions in the country, while another 140,000 have graduated from foreign universities, acquiring professions and specializations.
However, I would like to emphasize that considering the rapid development of science and technology and modern demands, this is still not enough.
Under current conditions, mastering modern knowledge has become a top priority for young people, including artificial intelligence, the digital economy, information technologies, electronic services, programming, new energy, and innovative entrepreneurship.
Young people must clearly understand that the sustainable socio-economic development of the country directly depends on the level of development of science and technology and the implementation of advanced technologies.
Therefore, young people must, even at this stage, demonstrate strong determination and actively engage in scientific research, creativity, and innovation.
At the same time, it should be remembered that learning foreign languages and broadening scientific horizons open up wide opportunities for education, employment, and international cooperation.
Mastering a profession and modern skills is the most important factor in ensuring a decent life and achieving economic competitiveness. Young people need to make even greater efforts in this direction.
Young people must also, with sound thinking and a high sense of responsibility, resist destructive phenomena and the influence of extremist ideas.
Because in today’s world, full of contradictions and upheavals, only those states whose people — especially their youth — are patriotic and conscious, educated and highly qualified, skilled in professions and crafts, capable of invention and innovation, and above all united and cohesive, remain resilient in the face of current threats and challenges.
Dear Children!
I would especially like to emphasize one extremely important thought that you must always remember.
We, the Tajiks, are a people of Aryan origin with a history of more than six thousand years, a great culture, and a creative civilization.
It is precisely for this purpose that we published and distributed free of charge the outstanding work “The Tajiks” by academician Bobojon Gafurov and the immortal poem “Shahnameh” by the great Abulqosim Firdavsi, so that the people, especially adolescents and youth, know their history, their roots, their traditions of patriotism and statehood, take pride in them, and strive to preserve and strengthen this heritage.
Especially in the conditions of globalization and the negative influence of alien cultures and traditions, you must study, know, and carefully preserve the fundamental national values — the history, language, culture, customs, rituals, and traditions of the ancient Tajik people — and contribute to their development and dissemination.
Most importantly, cherish the greatest treasure of the nation and the state — independence and freedom — and direct all your efforts toward protecting and strengthening them.
It is thanks to this priceless blessing that we are known and respected throughout the world and that our ancient civilization and cultural heritage are highly valued.
It is no coincidence that today’s adolescents and youth are called the source of great initiatives, the builders of the bright future of independent Tajikistan, and the driving force of society.
Because it is in your honest, worthy, and modern-thinking hands that the bright future of the state and the nation lies.
We fully trust our youth — the generation of the independence period — believe in their high national spirit and sincere patriotism, and rely on them above all in the further development of Tajikistan.
We are convinced that the youth of our country will make a significant and worthy contribution to celebrating the great and sacred national anniversary — the 35th anniversary of State Independence.
Dear Youth!
Addressing you once again, I emphasize: protect independence and freedom as the most sacred and precious values for the freedom-loving and peace-loving Tajik people.
Sincerely love this paradise-like homeland and preserve it as the land of our ancestors for future generations of the ancient Tajik nation.
Never, under any circumstances, betray your Motherland and your people.
In today’s extremely complex and vulnerable global conditions, protect the spiritual image of the ancient Tajik nation.
Be examples of high human morality, culture of communication, national dignity, patriotism, self-awareness, and civic maturity.
Show respect to parents and elders, observe noble national customs, traditions, and norms of behavior.
Preserve the purity of the native language, for our language is considered one of the oldest and most beautiful languages in the world, and this sweet-sounding and expressive language is the very essence of the ancient Tajik people.
You, who have grown up in an atmosphere of unity, stability, and development in our free country, are obliged to protect independent Tajikistan and, through your creative labor, make it even more prosperous and developed.
Every adolescent and young person must deeply realize that Tajikistan is his or her Homeland, sacred home, and that its prosperity depends on his or her labor, devotion, and sense of responsibility.
Once again, I congratulate all of you — the continuers of the great history and ancient culture of the Tajik people of Aryan origin — on Youth Day and wish each of you, above all, strong health, prosperity, happiness, and even greater success and achievements in your creative activities for the prosperity of our beloved Homeland.
May the youth of Tajikistan always remain the leading force of science and enlightenment, a reliable defender of peace and stability, and the creator of the bright present and future of our dear country!
Happy Tajik Youth Day, dear children of the Motherland!
