18 February 2026, Dushanbe
Dear compatriots,
I sincerely congratulate all of you on the arrival of the blessed month of Ramadan — a time of grace and abundance, goodness and generosity, patience and endurance, forgiveness of sins, and guidance toward righteous and worthy deeds.
I wish every family a peaceful and prosperous life, happiness, and success in all endeavors and human virtues.
The holy month of Ramadan holds a special place in the teachings of the sacred religion of Islam due to its profound wisdom, for in this month the Almighty has elevated patience and perseverance, love and mercy, kindness and generosity above other forms of worship and granted them a special status.
It should be remembered that the wisdom of fasting in the month of Ramadan lies not only in abstaining from food and drink and performing acts of worship, but also in the purification of both the inner and outer self, in avoiding hostility and hatred, in self-control, and in increasing good deeds within society.
Piety, generosity toward others, extending a helping hand to those in need, supporting relatives within one’s means and capabilities, as well as other benevolent and charitable actions — these are the values that bring Muslims special rewards during this month.
Whoever performs one good or righteous deed in this blessed month is like one who has performed seventy obligatory deeds at another time.
It should especially be emphasized that Islam regards respect for the status and position of parents as one of the highest values, elevating service to them above all other forms of worship.
In this regard, a hadith states that showing kindness to parents is superior to prayer, fasting, Hajj, and Umrah.
One of the righteous deeds granted special merit in the holy month of Ramadan is charity (sadaqah) given to orphans, persons with disabilities, the homeless, low-income families, and other needy individuals.
It should also be remembered that, according to the teachings and prescriptions of Islam, the primary recipients of fitr sadaqah are orphans, persons with disabilities, the needy, and low-income families.
In this connection, the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “The best and most valuable charity is that which is given in the month of Ramadan.”
We should not forget that a condition for the acceptance of good deeds is sincerity. At the same time, moderation must be observed, avoiding extravagance, ostentation, and excess.
It is especially important to act fairly in buying and selling goods and to refrain from lavish feasts and excessive food consumption during this month, as such actions do not correspond to the essence of the sacred month.
I am confident that the noble people of Tajikistan understand the wisdom of Ramadan correctly, and with good intentions and pure hearts devote themselves to worship, strengthening the atmosphere of peace, tranquility, unity, and mutual understanding in our dear country.
Dear compatriots,
The blessed month of Ramadan coincides with the beginning of the spring sowing season.
This requires each of us to give priority to the effective use of spring days and to make efforts for the timely and high-quality completion of agricultural work.
Considering the complex situation in today’s world, where due to climate change, economic crises, and other factors many countries face food shortages and rising prices, the issue of ensuring national food security has acquired special importance.
Under such conditions, the rational and efficient use of every plot of land to increase agricultural production, supply the domestic market, and reduce dependence on food imports is an important task and a moral and humane responsibility of every citizen.
In other words, each of us must contribute to ensuring the country’s food security through sincere labor, rational use of water and land, quality seeds, and obtaining abundant harvests.
At the same time, expanding agricultural activities, creating new jobs, planting orchards and vineyards, and undertaking actions that improve the standard of living are regarded in Islam as a form of continuous charity (sadaqah jariyah).
In addition, we must constantly pay attention to thrift, prevent excess and wastefulness, and avoid ostentatious luxury, taking into account the complex global situation.
We must care for our family members, children, relatives, and loved ones.
Moreover, it is the duty of each of us to educate and raise our children, providing them with knowledge, skills, and a profession.
For the pursuit of knowledge is a light that, at all times and in every era, guides a person to the right path and leads to a prosperous future.
The first verse revealed in the Holy Qur’an — “Iqra” (“Read”) — emphasizes the importance of reading and acquiring knowledge.
We must always remember that encouraging children to study and master a profession is a religious obligation and the best service in nurturing a new generation of adolescents and youth.
The State and Government are taking numerous measures to educate children and youth and provide them with knowledge and professions; however, parents must also fulfill their sacred duty in educating and raising their children to become educated and thoughtful individuals for their happy future.
Dear compatriots,
At present, our country is undergoing the stage of formation and development of a national state.
The legitimacy of building a modern national state requires that both Islamic values and national traditions and customs contribute to strengthening stability, peace, and the well-being of the people of Tajikistan.
This year, in honor of the sacred and great national holiday — the 35th anniversary of the independence of our beloved country — we have declared it the “Year of Expanding Beautification and Construction, Strengthening National Self-Awareness and Identity.”
In this proud year, every person has the opportunity, through their labor and constructive actions, to contribute to the development of the state and the prosperity of our beloved Motherland.
Thus, we not only celebrate the great holiday of independence but also lay the foundation for a bright future for generations to come.
It should be remembered that beautification efforts, including the construction and restoration of roads and bridges, medical institutions, schools, and kindergartens, are considered continuous charity (sadaqah jariyah) and, according to Islamic teachings, bring great spiritual reward and benefit to those who undertake them.
Every citizen can perform a good deed, improve a corner of their Motherland, and demonstrate patriotism and pride in their country through action.
Taking this opportunity, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the noble people of the country, especially entrepreneurs and generous individuals who contribute to such righteous and virtuous deeds, building thousands of industrial and social facilities, including roads, bridges, educational and medical institutions.
We must continue to work sincerely, raise our children in the spirit of patriotism, love for the Motherland, and high national consciousness, and pass on Tajikistan as a prosperous and beautiful country to future generations.
We must always remain united and cohesive, directing all our efforts toward preserving peace and stability in our country, beautifying our beloved Motherland, developing our independent state, and enhancing its authority in the international arena.
With hope for the further prosperity and development of our dear Motherland — Tajikistan — I once again congratulate the noble people of the country on the arrival of the blessed month of Ramadan and wish every citizen joy in their hearts, well-being in their homes, success, and everlasting peace and tranquility.
May the holy month of Ramadan be blessed, dear compatriots!
